Aboriginal Australians

The Oldest Living Cultures on Earth
Recorded only with the consent of Traditional Owners and the relevant land councils

Aboriginal Australians are the First Peoples of the Australian continent, with an unbroken presence reaching back at least 65,000 years — the oldest continuous living cultures on Earth. They are not one people but hundreds of distinct nations, each with its own Country, language and Law. Knowledge is carried in Songlines that thread across the land, in the deep yiḏaki drone, in ceremony, and in painting that maps the Dreaming. Some stories, songs and designs are sacred and restricted to initiates; FirstCiv holds only what Traditional Owners choose to share, as community-owned Heritage Tablets.
